Using Panel 1: Global Navigation

Begin your search by finding your geographic location of interest. To indicate an area, either type in a city/zip code, enter the geographic coordinates, or simply click and drag one of the graphic selection boxes to center on your target.

Using Panel 2: Regional Navigation

Once you have found a region of interest, use this panel to narrow your selection. You may zoom in and out, as well as click and drag to explore an area. Use the overturned corner in the bottom right and the Data Maps button to turn data map indicators on and off.

Available data maps will appear as partially-transparent overlays (red for land, light blue for water). Variation of intensity indicates which areas have more data sets (more opaque = more data sets). To see available data maps within the geographic bounds you've selected, continue by clicking the orange arrow to the right.

Using Panel 4: Original Data Map

View the details of the original data map you have selected. You may view different data maps by selecting them from the list on the previous panel. The information on the left indicates the map's creator, their rating (out of five stars), the map's rating (out of five stars), the map's location, date of creation, original projection, original datum, original spatial resolution, center geographic coordinates, number of parents (other maps used to create this map), number of offspring (other maps that have been created using this map), and default file-type.

To the right, you will see an image of the selected data set. You may also choose Description to see a full description of this data map.

At the bottom, there is a link for a low resolution GoogleEarth/KML file of this data set. This is not indicative of the real spatial resolution of the data.

Once you have found a data map that meets your criteria, continue by clicking the orange arrow to the right.

Using Panel 5: Customized Data Map

This is the final step in specifying a data map for purchase. The degree to which you can customize your purchase is determined by the seller. Available customization options are indicated by active buttons, while seller pre-determined features are indicated by grayed-out buttons. If the seller has enabled Geo Cropping, you can crop your map using the Zoom function. To include a high resolution GoogleEarth/KML file (if applicable), click the radial HiRes KMZ button. (Note: WeoGeo currently supports high resolution KMZs up to 100 Mega Pixels. Images larger than this are downsized for the KMZ only.)

Based on the options you select, the map's final cost will be indicated at the top of the panel. Once you are completely satisfied with your data map selection, continue to checkout by clicking the orange arrow to the right. (Note: All required options must be selected for price and the arrow to checkout to appear).
